| The Final Challenge began on a chilly spring morning at the Uzzell Farm in Bertram, TX. Despite the brisk air and strong winds competitors came out to participate in the final event. Grand Prize competitors went into the challenge within points of each other - this event would be the deciding factor, it was anyone's games. Lisa Bender and Jenny Ervin were tied for 1st place and four elite male competitors, Joe Cavazos, Ken Cutrer, Kris Kepler, and David de Leon were all within points of each other! The challenge: a 5K Off Road - hills, brush, cactus, and uneven terrain - and 50 squats with a weighted sandbag before and after the run! Results were totaled from all four events and in the end - a Female Elite CrossFitter and a tie between to tough Elite Male competitors took The Fittest Games Challenge! This year CrossFit Central will send Lisa Bender of Austin, TX, Kris Kepler of Austin, TX, and Ken Cutrer of Ft. Worth, TX to the National CrossFit Games in Aromas. California! The Workout |
